Once a woman misses her period, she starts to have the “feeling pregnant” blues. Some start to “feel” dizzy. They begin craving for certain food. If you are indeed pregnant, then you are simply experiencing the early signs of pregnancy. If you are not pregnant, this may be a result of too much excitement or paranoia. Whether or not you're expecting a baby, this stage can bring emotional dilemma to you and even to your partner. The only way to confirm your pregnancy is by taking a pregnancy test. But how do you ensure that you only get accurate pregnancy results? Are home pregnancy kits reliable enough? What is an online pregnancy test? Home pregnancy tests work by detecting pregnancy hormones, also known as Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) in your urine. Such hormone is secreted by the placenta after a fertilized egg is implanted in the lining of your uterus. And so, once the hormone is found in your urine, your pregnancy test results will indicate a “positive.” But how soon can you conduct a pregnancy test? Most doctors and HPT manufacturers recommend that you take a home pregnancy test on the first day of your missed period which falls around the second week after conception. There are; however, some kits which were especially designed to be more sensitive than the others and can be taken earlier. Just keep in mind to read the instructions very carefully and interpret the results correctly. Pregnancy test results administered at home are said to be 97% accurate. If you want a more accurate result, you can undergo through a blood test administered by your physician. This test is said to be more sensitive than HPTs and can even detect pregnancy on the second week of conception. Apart from home pregnancy kits, an online pregnancy test may also being considered by some women. An online pregnancy test does not necessarily tell you whether you're pregnant or not. They simply compute the odds by asking a variety of questions about your menstrual cycle, how active your sexual life is, your last intercourse and a few other factors. You answer quizzes with these themes and then an automatic online computation which measures the odds and your chance of getting pregnant will give you the result. Online pregnancy tests should never be taken seriously. While, yes they help in determining your chances of getting pregnant, online calculations are never accurate. The best way and the most accurate pregnancy results are those which are administered by your physician. As mentioned above, blood pregnancy tests are said to be more accurate than home pregnancy tests. However, if you can't wait, you can opt for an HPT once you start feeling the early signs of pregnancy just to give you a temporary confirmation. But then again to avoid false hopes, always check with your doctor and have another pregnancy test, this time using blood test, administered. There are many ways to take pregnancy tests. So stop wallowing in your dilemma now and get a confirmation as soon as you can.

Pregnancy and childbirth is the most wondrous experience of a woman’s life. To describe it, one must use a list of contradictions. What other event can be so universal, yet so personal? At what other time does a woman feel more in tune with her feminine side, while yet tapping into her strongest reserve of raw power? What other rite of passage takes her to the very doors of death, only to open them and find new life? There is no other time when a woman can feel so sick while being in perfectly good health. There is no other event quite like it.
After a century of highly medicalized prenatal care and childbirth, the trend in recent decades has swung back toward natural, gentle birthing techniques. Midwives and doulas, once frowned upon by the medical establishment, are now being welcomed into hospitals, oftentimes replacing doctors at the pregnant woman’s bedside. Much has been written about the benefits of water, hypnotism, and naturopathy in prenatal care and childbirth. This article will focus on the use of aromatherapy to ease the discomforts, relieve emotional stress, and maintain good health of mother and baby throughout pregnancy.
Each pregnancy comes with its own set of discomforts, arising from ordinary fluctuations in hormones and bodily changes. While diet and lifestyle changes are sometimes necessary for best results, many irritations, included those noted below, can be alleviated by the use of essential oils. When selecting oils, purchase only those of high-quality, which have been distilled for therapeutic use, and are free of additives. Due to the heightened sense of smell during pregnancy, limit blends to one or two oils at a time; you needn’t purchase every oil on this list. Try a couple and see which ones you like best. You will see that many oils have overlapping qualities.
Nausea, headache, and morning sickness, which are often the earliest complaints in pregnancy, can be treated by diffusing essential oils into your breathing space. Not only can doing this counteract diagreeable odors, but using oils with antiseptic properties, such as lavender or tea tree, will cleanse the environment of harmful airborne bacteria—protecting against colds and flu. To diffuse, simply mix 3 drops lavender with 1 drop peppermint and 1 drop eucalyptus in a bowl of water. Or if you prefer, specialized diffusers on the market heat and vaporize the oil molecules, which spreads the scent faster and farther into the room. If you are going out, keep a cotton handkerchief and a vial of lavender or peppermint with you. Place 1 drop of lavender or peppermint on the cloth and hold it over your nose, inhaling deeply, to prevent headache or nausea.
Cool or warm compresses can do wonders to restore a feeling of balance and wellness. Fill a bowl with warm or cool water (whichever appeals to you.) Add 3-4 drops of lavender, and drape a flannel across the top of the water to pick up the film of oil. Wring out the flannel and place it on the forehead or front of the ribcage. For warm compresses, cover the flannel with plastic and add a towel.
Citrus oils, such as orange, lemon, grapefruit, and bergamot, are safe to use in early pregnancy and have uplifting qualities. They are particularly effective in alleviating vomiting. Add 7 drops of any citrus oil to 1 ounce olive oil (or another carrier oil) and massage over the abdomen for best results.
Varicose veins respond well to cypress, geranium, lemon, and lavender oils. Use any mixture of these oils in a warm bath (total 6 drops), with alternating warm and cool compresses(total 4 drops) on the affected areas, or in a massage oil (total 7 drops essential oil per ounce olive oil). When massaging, use gentle strokes from the foot upward, being careful not to apply too strong of pressure where the varicosity begins or ends.
Women who complain of hemorrhoids and swollen anal tissue may find relief in taking a cool sitz bath with 6 drops lemon oil. To prepare the bath set a large plastic tub in the bathtub and fill with water. Add the oils and stir to spread. Keeping legs and feet outside the plastic tub, lower yourself into the water and soak for 20 minutes. Follow up with an aromatic massage of 7 drops cypress and 7 drops lemon oil in 2 ounces olive oil.
Another ailment common in pregnancy is edema, or water retention. Lavender, geranium and rosemary oils combat this condition by stimulating the lymphatic system to drain excess fluids from the body. Gently massage the feet and ankles, using upward strokes, with a combination of these oils in olive oil; or try a cool footbath with 3 drops geranium or lemon oil and 3 drops lavender.
Almost every woman earns at least a couple stretch marks by the end of her pregnancy. These can be prevented or reduced by topically applying a blend of 1 ounce each of wheat germ oil and hazelnut oil with 4 drops neroli, 2 drops carrot seed, and 2 drops geranium. Massaging the blend into thighs, hips, breasts and belly every night and morning will nourish the skin and help maintain elasticity.
Please note that there are some essential oils which should not be used during pregnancy as they are known abortifacients. These include basil, fennel, myrrh, parsley, sage, and thyme. Other oils which are emenogogues are listed in some texts as unsafe during pregnancy, while promoted in others. Cedarwood, chamomile, clary sage, cypress, jasmine, juniper, lavender, marjoram, peppermint, rose, and rosemary should therefore be used with care.

I often have people who write to me and ask how they can best prepare their body to not only conceive, but to conceive a boy baby. Preparing your body for conception and preparing your body for one gender over another are two entirely different things. If you want to chose the sex of your baby, there are a few more steps to be aware of, which I will discuss in the following article.
General Preparation For Conception: First, I'm going to discuss a few general things you'll want to do to get ready to try to conceive. These apply no matter which gender you want. First, if you are on birth control pills, you should give yourself three months before you start trying to get pregnant. The same holds true for any medication that would either negatively affect the fetus or impede your ability to conceive. Some medications require that you taper them down before you go off of them entirely. Work closely with your medical professional on how best to do this.
Second, you will want to stop any dieting or rigorous food or workout plan. Studies show that women need mostly normal amounts of calories and fat stores to have the best chance to conceive. So, you'll just want to make sure that your food or work out plan is not too restrictive. Studies do show that women who conceive boys conceive slightly more calories per day, often including breakfast as part of the calories.
Preparing Your Body For A Boy Conception: Before I get into the specifics, I want to first explain the characteristics of the boy producing sperm. These are the little guys that you are rooting for in the race to the egg. On a positive note, these little fellows (more specifically the Y chromosomes) are faster than their girl counter parts and this can be an advantage, but they are also the most vulnerable to issues like time and acidity which can be a disadvantage. To give them the best shot to win the race, you'll need to become more alkaline and to conceive late in the game.
The firs thing that I would do would be to get PH testing strips. This will tell you if your vaginal environment is friend or foe to the Y sperm. If you are acidic, you will need to change this because this is not going to be a great scenario for the Y's that you want to not only survive, but to thrive. You can make your PH lower (which means to become more alkaline) through your diet (consuming low PH and low acid foods) and / or by douching with ingredients based on just how acidic you really are. You will need to keep testing yourself to see how you are progressing and to know when your PH is low enough.
Another thing to consider is time. Because the Y's are so vulnerable, you can't ask them to wait on the egg. If they attempt this, many of them will die off. You actually want the egg to have to wait for them. To accomplish this, you'll want to conceive after you ovulate (the day of or one day later.) Find a very accurate method to calculate this. I don't like to leave anything to chance here, so I often recommend using a predictor that measures bodily fluids with urine and saliva being the most popular. (I really do prefer saliva because it gives you more flexibility as to when you can test.)
The next variable involves your partner too. For a boy conception, you want to make sure you have an orgasm as those bodily fluids are alkaline. And, you want to achieve deep penetration because distance isn't so friendly to the Y's either.
Conceive A Boy is a website I set up to make the process of having a son a bit easier. I've included instructions and resources for the douching recipes, and the PH testing strips and saliva predictors mentioned in this article as well as hints, tips, and support. Check it out if you like at http://conceive-a-boy-baby.com/

It`s 1976. Despite fierce international controversy over whether in vitro fertilization should ever be performed in humans, doctors around the world race to be first to produce a baby by this procedure.      Dr. Colin Sanford, a brilliant, ambitious obstetrician in the Pacific Northwest city of Hyetopolis, has a plan. He recruits Dr. Giselle Hearn, an experienced laboratory geneticist-embryologist at the University who`s frustrated by the ultra-conservative policies of her department chairman. Drs. Sanford and Hearn, working secretly, set out to put their names in history books.      Unfortunately, a secret that big is hard to keep, and Alma Wanego, Dr. Hearn`s lab supervisor, catches on and demands a blackmail payment.      Several months later, Dr. Sanford`s patient, Joyce Kennett, gives birth to a healthy boy, and Sanford prepares to make an announcement at a press conference. But before that can come about, Ms. Kennett`s marginally-schizophrenic husband kills Dr. Hearn and then himself.      Police Detective Bernie Baumgartner`s investigation is hampered by pressure from influential people at the University who want to control sensationalism that might harm the institution. The Chief of Police suggests the case be closed as the work of a mentally-unstable man who may have forgotten to take his medication. But dogged, tenacious Baumgartner suspects that Sanford and Hearn were in fact doing IVF, that they succeeded with the Kennetts, and that murder, suicide, and other crimes were the fallout. A double cat-and-mouse game develops between doctor and detective, and as stakes escalate, truth becomes an increasingly-evasive commodity.      A Perilous Conception begins a new series.

On the eve of baby’s on the due date, I am unable to sleep. With baby moving in my womb, which occur spontaneously Braxton Hicks contractions and make you helpless, like a beetle on its back waving its legs, and the enormous pressure in pelvis that whisks you away to the house bathroom only to expel an unimpressive thimble full of pee every 15 minutes? Reflect on the following advice of parents and pregnancy resources.
Pregnancy Tip: - Learn to love your belly: Strangers on the street said, Wow you are great! Every day has to be now when you were a mere four months of pregnancy. After months of experiencing a plague of panic every time you caught a glimpse of my reflection, you finally came to love your belly in a pregnancy photo shoot.
- Borrow maternity clothes: No matter how ugly and some of the huge maternity pieces seem, accept them all. You really do not know how you can get big and comfortable as the hideous panels might be later. Put aside your pre-pregnancy clothes once you grow out of them so why not constantly grieving the loss of old wardrobe.
- Let go of your due date: Did you know that only 4% of babies are born on their actual due date who knew! After I found out that it is perfectly normal for a baby to arrive any time between 37 and 42 weeks pregnant, be prepared? (At any time during the five weeks that the window).
- Learn to enjoy your deferential public: Yes, strangers will occasionally see your belly as public property and dish out a host of comments and advice.
- Find a health professional that you love: The ups and downs of your pregnancy require special support and pregnancy resources. Find someone who welcomes your questions puts your fears to rest and relies on having the best pregnancy and delivery is possible.
- Listen and learn to trust your body, and relinquishing cravings (turkey sandwiches with cranberry sauce and chocolate ice cream), the need for extra sleep.
- Also, reading parenting books for the humor and practicality, the fabulous hardcore midwifery books like Ina May's Guide to Pregnancy helped you learn to trust your body more than ever. These books helped to dissolve many of your fears, as I learned things like no matter how big your baby, babies heads are mostly around the same size, and are designed for nature to make the journey through the birth canal.
- Find other pregnant women and hang out with them: Pre-natal is a real exercise class pregnancy resource blessing. Not only you getting fit, but you found a sense of belonging, where you could really let belly out with the best of them. When you began to regret (like nausea, especially in a day) and find another pregnant woman who was going through a tougher situation (like kidney stones or painful hemorrhoids!) Or Trouper in a real class would say something, which led to spirit. Plus, by finding other pregnant woman saved non-pregnant friends the hassle of listening to you all the shares play-by-play experience of pregnancy, probably saved some of your friends.
- Spend money only on things that the baby will make a real difference for you and buy or borrow the remaining second-hand: Babies do not? Do not worry about the paint chips and Color, just about being near the source of milk? You! The fact that they are going to grow quickly out of any and all clothes helped put my priorities in order. Then we splurged on things that mattered to me: the stroller (as I am a great walker), a safe car seat (for obvious reasons) and a rocker / glider (once I realized that could be powering up twelve hours a day during the first six weeks).
- Feel Morning sickness, can happen at any time: Morning sickness can happen at any time of day, every day or even nonexistent. Fortunately not often, it can even creep into the second or third quarter as it did to me.
- Everyone's pregnancy experience is different, so take what is useful and ignore the rest: With so many experiences and so many people dishing out advice. What do I have observed is that pregnancy in most cases is the great equalizer? If you do something on one end you'll likely find something on the other. Fortunately, whatever our pregnancy experience may be, most of us end up with a little bundle of joy that makes the trip worth all the effort. I'm off to bed now to join my husband and my five pillows to sleep refresh my bountiful belly, my breasts happy and weary head. How am I going to sleep outside, I'll gratefully in my heart, knowing that soon we will have the new welcoming a beautiful addition to our little family. This is truly the greatest miracle of all parenting.
