I'm 17 weeks pregnant, and lately I have been experiencing leg cramps when I first wake up in the morning. They really ache. Is this a common pregnancy symptom? Is there any way to reduce the pain or prevent it?
I'm 17 weeks pregnant as well and have been experiencing severe leg and feet cramps. It's a very normal part of pregnancy. Try adding more potasium to your diet. Eat a banana or two every day and don't forget to take your prenatal vitamins. The increased potasium should help reduce the cramps, unfortunately they're not going to totally go away until you're either farther along or the baby's born. If they get so severe that it interferes with you walking or keeps you up all hours, you may want to ask your doctor some cramp relief methods that are safe. Be sure to ask before taking any over the counter medications and don't try taking hot baths. I know a nice, hot bath may sound like the best thing in the world right now...but it can be extremely dangerous for the baby. It raises your core body temperature and can cause misacarriage or other problems. If nothing else, you could get a nice leg massage. It'll increase blood flow to those muscles and increase the amount of oxygen they're getting as well...and who wouldn't want a nice massage? =)

Hi- Went to docs yesterday and 4 weeks preg. but after yesterday not much cramping, barely breast tenderness. Just tired from anxiety- high blood pressure etc.
So question....shld I be expecting the worse? Is it possible to have no pregnancy symptoms (except for fuller boobs) and be pregnant? How do I know if the baby is growing or not? At 4 weeks?
How do u guys deal with this waiting! I'd really want to know now how the pregnancy is, good or bad. But next appointment is 3 weeks. I guess u have to learn to be patient lol.
As long as you aren't bleeding heavily (soaking through a pad within an hour), passing huge clots and cramping bad---you don't have anything to worry about. Some women don't even pick up any symptoms until the 6th week and beyond. I am 8 weeks, and I didn't know anything was going on until like the 7th week. I would just chill out and enjoy daydreaming about the little bud that is growing inside you.

Illustrated with hundreds of cutting-edge 3-D and conventional ultrasound images, a chronicle of a baby`s development throughout pregnancy reveals what medical professionals look for to determine if a baby is developing normally. Original.
It`s 1976. Despite fierce international controversy over whether in vitro fertilization should ever be performed in humans, doctors around the world race to be first to produce a baby by this procedure.      Dr. Colin Sanford, a brilliant, ambitious obstetrician in the Pacific Northwest city of Hyetopolis, has a plan. He recruits Dr. Giselle Hearn, an experienced laboratory geneticist-embryologist at the University who`s frustrated by the ultra-conservative policies of her department chairman. Drs. Sanford and Hearn, working secretly, set out to put their names in history books.      Unfortunately, a secret that big is hard to keep, and Alma Wanego, Dr. Hearn`s lab supervisor, catches on and demands a blackmail payment.      Several months later, Dr. Sanford`s patient, Joyce Kennett, gives birth to a healthy boy, and Sanford prepares to make an announcement at a press conference. But before that can come about, Ms. Kennett`s marginally-schizophrenic husband kills Dr. Hearn and then himself.      Police Detective Bernie Baumgartner`s investigation is hampered by pressure from influential people at the University who want to control sensationalism that might harm the institution. The Chief of Police suggests the case be closed as the work of a mentally-unstable man who may have forgotten to take his medication. But dogged, tenacious Baumgartner suspects that Sanford and Hearn were in fact doing IVF, that they succeeded with the Kennetts, and that murder, suicide, and other crimes were the fallout. A double cat-and-mouse game develops between doctor and detective, and as stakes escalate, truth becomes an increasingly-evasive commodity.      A Perilous Conception begins a new series.

I am 5 months pregnant and every single morning I wake up with bodyaches mostly my back. I don't know if I need a new mattress or if it's because I'm pregnant. I pratically have to roll over and get out of bed each morning and I'm so stiff and in the morning I'm literally dragging my feet and doing the pregnant wobble which makes it that more difficult to go get going for work..
Has anyone experienced this and if so how can you minimize the aches
I'm 16 weeks and have an awful time getting up in the morning. I just lay there because my back hurts so much. I take a shower and just let the water hit my back. I was not like this when I was pregnant with my son. I think I am going to be in big trouble when I really start to get big. Good Luck.

Has anyone used the cheap internet pregnancy test strips?
Three days ago I used an internet test strip, and the faintest line showed up after the time limit. I used another one yesterday, and another very faint line showed up a couple of minutes after the time limit. Now this morning I used another one and a faint line showed up within the time limit. This line was still faint, but you could see it w/out holding it to a light. My question is has anyone ever used these and had the result be correct? How reliable do you think these test strips are?
I should also mention that I dipped one in plain water to see if the faint line would show up, and it didn't. Not even after the time limit.
No you probably are then. I used a home pregnancy test from Dollar General and it was a dollar. I had a faint line on my first 2 test and then I took another on the second day to see if it would do the same thing again....it did. Then I waited a week and took another and the line was MUCH darker. You may just be really early in your pregnancy so it won't show up real dark.
It is just looking for a specific hormone and if it is there it will show. Congrats!!!

Salkind presents an often intimidating and difficult subject in a way that is informative, personable, and clear. Researchers and students who find themselves uncomfortable with the analysis portion of their work will appreciate this book`s unhurried pace and thorough, friendly presentation. Salkind begins the Excel version with a complete introduction to the software, and shows the students how to install the Excel Analysis ToolPak option (free) to earn access to a host of new and very useful analytical techniques. He then walks students through various statistical procedures, beginning with correlations and graphical representation of data and ending with inferential techniques and analysis of variance. Pedagogical features include sidebars offering additional technical information about the topic and set-off points that reinforce major themes. Finally, questions to chapter exercises, a complete glossary, and extensive Excel functionality are located at the back of the book. This Third Edition is updated for use with Excel 2010.
Finally, an introductory statistics text that provides broad coverage, limited theory, clear explanations, plenty of practice opportunities, and examples that engage today`s students! Using General Social Survey data from 1980 and 2010, Robert Szafran asks students to consider how young adults have changed over the last 30 years. Students learn to select an appropriate data analysis technique, carry out the analysis, and draw appropriate conclusions. Changes in subjective beliefs (such as freedom of speech and abortion) and objective characteristics (like years of schooling and marital status) are examined. In answering the question about how young adults have changed, students acquire a broad knowledge of basic statistics and extensive experience with SPSS.
