The phenomenon of bleeding has been shown to appear in up to 22% of all pregnancies and is associated with significant maternal and fetal morbidities, and even mortality. Although vaginal bleeding occurs mainly during the first trimester, it can appear at any stage of pregnancy and in the postpartum period. This sometimes life-threatening event requires an extensive work-up in order to recognize its cause and establish a rapid and effective therapeutic approach. This book is a comprehensive appraisal of this critical condition. It draws on evidence-based data and brings together, in a single volume, updated information on all aspects of pregnancy-related bleeding. A global group of interdisciplinary experts contributed chapters on: bleeding during early pregnancy (early pregnancy loss, ectopic pregnancy, gestational trophoblastic disease, and cancer of the reproductive tract during pregnancy); bleeding in late pregnancy (preterm delivery, placental abruption, placenta previa, vasa previa and uterine rupture); and postpartum hemorrhage.

Is it possible to be 7.5 weeks pregnant and still have a negative pregnancy test?
I think I might be pregnant (a happy idea). If I am, I'll be 8 weeks along in a few days. I had a normal period back in late March, then in late April I had what I thought was a period, complete with the cramping, bleeding and breast tenderness. The differences, however are that the bleeding was lighter than usual, lasted only 3 days, and the breast tenderness did not go away as is usually does; it's worse now (Mid-May). I have extreme tenderness in the breasts and overwhelming exhaustion every day. I also cannot lie on my stomach to do exercises (feels like a small bulge). Pregnancy test is negative. I have an appointment to see my doctor in a few days. Is it possible my hormone levels are not high enough to be detected yet? Either I'm pregnant or this is PMS from hell.
If you have any doubts at all, your best bet is to go to the doctor and get a blood pregnancy test. It is the only surefire way to find out if you are pregnant. Or wait until you think you may be about 10 weeks along and see if you can get an ultrasound done.

Introducing the newest addition to the WHAT TO EXPECT family: an indispensable "dateless" 42-week pregnancy planner and appointment-keeper for the wall that starts the day a woman discovers she's a mother-to-be and continues through delivery. Created by the authors of America's pregnancy bible with over ten million copies in print, this is the perfect place to record personal pregnancy dates and notes while keeping track of appointments, questions for the doctor, fetal movements, shopping lists, weight gain, and anything else. A 10" x 10" wire-o-bound grid, the conveniently sized planner will hang in the office, kitchen, bedroom, or wherever it's needed. It covers 42 weeks (the usual 40-week gestation period, plus two extra weeks in case baby arrives late), displaying two weeks on each page. Weeks 1 to 22 are on the front pages. Then flip the entire calendar for weeks 23 to 42 on the back. Not only are the dates left to be filled in, but the days are, too. So if Day One for a woman is a Wednesday, that becomes the lead-off day on the grid. The planner is illustrated throughout with full-color watercolors by Judith Cheng and packaged in a decorative gift box, The WHAT TO EXPECT PREGNANCY PLANNER is a must-have for every expecting woman. All of those fans out there who think they know the Biz. What is your insider info that has even those involved shaking their heads. I will pick the most outrageous, mis-conception there is out there. It could be jockeys can't own their own horses, jockeys don't make enough so they consistantly throw races, horses are beat mercilessly so they run faster. Any of those would be great, but they are old by this point, come up with the best inside info your hotwalking friend just heard, and I will pick the most laughable fact out there as best answer.
When Giacomo won the Derby and the superfecta paid 1+million dollars, some idiot told me that the 4 horses involved were given 'milkshakes'.

When high-school junior Ashley Salazar learned she was pregnant, she immediately started a blog to document the difficult, life-altering experience. Little did she know how life-altering it would actually be. Later, she applied online to be considered for the cast of MTV’s hit show 16 & Pregnant. The show responded quickly and her story will be told as the season 2 finale in a special 90-minute episode aired in December 2010. Her memoir takes the viewer further back and further forward, and chronicles the tortured indecision she faces as she decides whether its best for her baby to give her up for adoption or take the dramatic step toward motherhood.
