My best friend and I have gone through pregnancy together. Her due date is approaching in mid november but the doctor thinks she may go early because shes already dilated. Her 30th birthday is this week and I had planned on buying her something special- some birthstone jewelry that would have been November for the baby but now that she may go anytime- that idea is gone. Anyone have any ideas of what to give her that's not a baby item- she already had her shower and I would really like to get her something for herself!

I feel so bad for my poor husband.
At the beginning of my pregnancy I told him he needed to get tested for schizophrenia because he was being mean to me (he wasn't and I don't remember why I was angry with him) and then today I went into hysterics over how what would happen if one of us couldn't get off work for a field trip or PTA meeting.
NOTE: I am 11 weeks pregnant with our first-the field trip thing is at least 5 years away. I just feel so bad for my sweet husband so do the emotions calm down a little bit at all or does he have to put up with this until May when our baby is due?
EDIT: He's quite the trooper. I've been mean, depressed, excited, hysterical, and he said "you're pregnant, it's okay, you have until May. My only concern is if you act like this afterwards then I'll be worried about post-partum, that's all."

That's so funny, I laughed so hard. It sounds so much like ME! I am also due in May, 12 weeks 3 days along. I did NOT have emotional symptoms during the pregnancy at all so far, and this past week I began crying on a whim and yelling about stupid things. I feel so horrible for my husband, and wonder what the heck I was thinking when I look back on these episodes. Why would I get upset over the things I've been getting upset about? Sometimes it's really funny and I die laughing when I look back on it, and other times I look back and feel more a little insane! They say it calms down in the second trimester, but every pregnancy is different. I'm going into the second trimester soon and mine just started!
