Teenage Pregnancies?

My personal opinion on teenage pregnancies is not what 'the rest of the world thinks'. I agree that not every teenager is clued up about sex and birth control but I do not think that the rise of teenage pregnancies are to do with that.

From my own personal experience I believe that teenage girls LONG for a baby. (I'm not talkin about every single teenager). Look at how society depicts babies - 'little bundles of joy', & it's someone for them to love and who will love them back. As a teenager, you just want to feel wanted somewhere so that's what many of them long for - a little baby to dress up and look good. All pregnant women and mothers to babies get attention!

I think todays society should yes give them sex education but also make it compulsory for them to take home them 'real life' dolls to actually see what it's like being a parent. I think so many people lack understanding of teenagers and this is why so many teenagers are mothers.

Does anyone agree or disagree?

I agree with you about the longing.

I think a lot of teen pregnancies are due to stupidity (that's what it's called if you ignore precaution), but there is defenitely longing involved.
If the longing for a sweet, cuddly baby is not there before she's pregnant, it will develop pretty soon when she's pregnant.

But.
Personally, I long for a new computer, a cool racing bike and a long holiday.
I don't get them, because I choose to make other choices.

What I am saying is: Part of what defines you is how you deal with your longings.
Wanting something and not getting it right away requires backbone and character.

I say 16 year old girls who 'long' for a baby and get one just because they can, totally oblivious to the consequences it has for their life, their babies prospects (single mom, no job) and the strain she puts on her family, is irresponsible and childish.
I want it - I must have it.
By that account, I think 16 year old girls should not be a mother just because they can.
By giving in to their longing they show how irrisponsible and short-sighted they are.
Not the qualities you want a mother to have.

Ever since I got pregnant I have been having weird pregnancy dreams, what does this mean?

The other day I dreamed that I was giving birth to twins.
The next day i dreamed that someone tried to cut my baby out of me and sell it.
Then last night I dreamed that i gave birth to a baby girl but then she turned into a little boy later on in the dream. What in the world is going on? Does anyone else have weird pregnancy dreams also?

It is totally normal to have weird dreams and/or nightmares during pregnancy. It dosen't mean anything other than your hormones are going wild. Hang in there, your dreams will go back to normal after baby gets here

My wife is 38 weeks pregnant, she is experiencing nausea, diarrhea, and stomach cramps. Is this normal?

Along with this she is also having contractions every 30 minutes or so. Is this a sign that labor is imminent? Just looking for some advice from those who have experienced child-birth. This is our first baby!
Her mucous plug fell out a few days ago as well, and she had a bout with the same symptoms a few weeks ago. Thanks for the info!

yup! sounds like you'll have a baby by the end of the week, and if the contractions continue, and get closer together, you'll probably have a baby by tomorrow. =] give her a good back-rub- it will help her feel better (at least for a bit) Good luck!

Nausea

Nausea

$51.97

Nausea is a complex sensation that results from the interaction of certain fixed biological factors, such as gender, with changeable psychological factors, such as anxiety. This is the first book to provide a complete, in-depth explanation of what we know about nausea, along with the latest research results on its causes and treatment. As it is the product of long-term collaboration between scientists from the three main approaches to studying and treating nausea--psychology, gastroenterology, and physiology--the information this book provides is both comprehensive and well integrated. The book is divided into two parts, on mechanisms and management, respectively, and four sections. The chapters in Section I introduce the concept of nausea as a protective control mechanism with individual dynamic thresholds, explain the function of nausea, review past and present conceptions of nausea, and describe the prevalence of nausea in different conditions. Section II includes four basic chapters that review what is known about the physiological bases of nausea. Other chapters explore the roles of the central nervous system, autonomic nervous system, endocrine system, and gastric dysrhythmias. Section III presents the difficult problem of measuring nausea, with chapters focusing on measuring nausea in humans and studying it in animals. Section IV forms the second part of the book, on the management of nausea. The main chapters cover nausea and its treatment in several conditions, including chronic nausea, diabetes, pregnancy, post-operative, cancer and its treatment, and provocative motion. A final chapter discusses future research, including three preliminary studies of novel treatment approaches.

Please help. Kid's out of control don't know what to do 10 points?

Hi my name is kandi. I have 16 year old triplet's. One boy name de'yontae, and two girl's name de'yondra and deyonnie. We live in cincinnati, and they all work for there dad. Making about 9 dollar's an hour, and they work 35 hour's a week. They are good kids for the most part none of them ever ask for money but we still have problem's out of them, here's one of the problem's.

De'yondra live's on her own. I signed for the apartment. I told her as long as she could keep up with the rent, gas, food, and water i didn't care her dad pay's for her cell phone and time warner bill. She just found out that she is pregnant. She is happy about it. I don't know why. Her dad is not mad at her but mad at me for giving her so much freedom. Do i make her terminate her pregnancy and move back in. Or go with her plan and leave her bee? I'm so lost she is very independent i just don't want her to make a mistake.

well that you raised triplet's is a accomplishment in it's self, with that being said and the mother of 4 children myself I can say that hind sight is 20-20. You had probably been a little too easy on them, 16 yrs old and on her is way too young. She has yet to figure out how to pay her own bills, run a household and practice safe sex let alone raise a baby, so guess what, you get to help, you will now be a grandma and changing diapers again. It was an easy decision to say go ahead and move out but keep up with your financial responsibilites, but neglected to talk to her or teach her about the personal behavior. Don't be lost about what happened in the past, just have wide open eyes and ears to the future. Good Luck!

Heart Disease in Pregnancy (Paperback)

Heart Disease in Pregnancy (Paperback)

$65.43

All cardiologists will be called on to assess and manage pregnant women, however the majority have had little or no training in the subject. In the same way, obstetricians assess women with cardiac conditions, and therefore require the knowledge to both refer patients with heart disease as well as to manage them through the pregnancy. However a recent enquiry into maternal deaths has highlighted that morbidity and mortality of women with heart disease in pregnancy has continued to increase over the last 15 years and substandard care has been identified in 40% of cases. Recommendations have been made that women with, or at risk of, heart disease are screened and counselled on the appropriate risks of undergoing a pregnancy, and as a result all physicians involved need a good understanding of the subject and access to the relevant information. A concise handbook written for cardiology and obstetric trainees and consultants, as well as specialist nurses and midwives, Heart Disease in Pregnancy provides a detailed introduction to the physiological changes of pregnancy and gives practical advice on the management of women with heart disease who are pregnant or who are considering pregnancy. It also provides the relevant obstetric knowledge and processes needed for a cardiologist to successfully manage a pregnant woman.
