Can a twin pregnancy be detected after a transvaginal ultrasound was done al 5.2 weeks?
I had an u/s done yesterday at 5.2 weeks. The u/s throws a gestational age of 7.4 weeks and only one sac is seen. I still think I am pregnant with twins. Can it be possible? My Hcg levels triple every 48 hours.
Well it sounds like one of two things. Either you have identical twins in the same sac (fraternal twins never share a sac) which has caused it to be a bit bigger, or you're just further along than you thought with a singleton pregnancy. Monoamniotic twins (twins who share an amniotic sac) are very rare though so chances are you're just having one baby and further along than you thought. Was the baby(ies) seen? Or just the sac? Common not to see a fetal pole before 6 weeks.

In the past decade, the perspective of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) as a benign condition limited to pregnancy has evolved into a disease with significant implications for both mother and fetus. As such, it has become a condition relevant to medical specialties beyond obstetrics. Research on the pathophysiology and clinical management of women and children with GDM has increased dramatically, however postpartum management of women with GDM and their offspring still remains less covered by research and clinicians. Research is currently being conducted (in the HAPO study) with results available in early 2008 that are expected to further inform the field about the definition of diagnostic criteria of GDM that are related to their ability to predict perinatal complications. Simultaneously, from the clinical perspective, issues regarding diagnosis and management of GDM during pregnancy have been informed by recent information from clinical trials. Recently released information from the Human Genome Project on the location of diabetes genes is expected to inform the search for GDM loci. Finally, implications for postpartum diabetes prevention and glucose intolerance have also emerged, mainly from epidemiologic data, which suggest specific reshaping of policy for postpartum mothers. To date however, this information has not been consolidated into a single source and GDM information has been limited to a single chapter in various textbooks of diabetes. Efficient synthesis of the data and information from these diverse sources is crucial to effectively prioritize interventions and assemble resources for further research, ranging from further bench investigation to the implementation of public health programs.

when i was pregnant with my first child in my third trimester i started to get a rash on the inside of my arms but it would only come in the morning and then go away.. then one day it didnt go away.. and then it showed up on my legs under my boobs and then on my feet.. it was the most horrible thing i have ever went through.. its not that it hurt but it itched sooo bad that i would get up int he middle of the night to go in the shower and like burn my self with water to make it feel better.. well anyway.. the point of this is.. they had NO idea what it was until after i was prego.. they tried steroids.. didnt work.. its called the PUPS rash.. its a rash that some prego ppl get they dont know why or how but it happens.. thank god i didnt get it with my other 2 prenancy's.. but just a heads up for any prego mommy's out their that have this.. its treatable.. its goes away litterly right after the baby comes out.. lol.. im not kidding.. but good luck with it!!

I got it. around my 31st week. it was everywhere. from like my neck down, and it was purple and blotchy. and it itched horribly. sometimes it was so itchy it hurt like hell. but yea, it definitely went away right after Morgan was born. it was weird.
